A Few Firsts

It's been an exciting couple of weeks and I'm doing many new things.

I'm interested in everything around me and I'm starting to figure out how to get to the things I want. Be it food, a toy, Mommy and Daddy, or anything else that's lying around, I'll roll or creep to it so that I can explore it up close.

For instance, here I am regarding Wyatt at my Mim and Pop's house.

I'm getting used to noise and commotion. Being in the city is one thing, but all the people noise is something to learn to understand. Here I am with Dad at my first baseball game.

I learn best by putting things in my mouth. Here I am discovering my feet and toes.

Mommy took me swimming for the first time recently, too. I wasn't sure about the water at first, but I'm starting to like it. The second time we went I splashed us both until we were soaked. Daddy is going to go with us soon. I can't wait.

Gotta get ready for the summer season. I'll be a water baby yet.

I started pulling myself up to a standing position in my crib last week, and consequently my mattress is lower to the ground now. Check out my second attempt at standing.

Love to you All,

A Springy Sprightly Seven-Month-Old

Summer is coming and that means it's time to cut loose and let it all hang out.

I have become quite a fan of Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.

Still outgrowing some clothes, and growing into others. Loving my Horton shirt! Thanks Liz!

Happy Earth Day!

Sporting Mim-made hat and socks. Oh so cozy!

I'm the king of the mountain.

Six - Months - Old

It's my half birthday today!  A lot has happened to me in six months.  Let's recap...

I am a good traveler.  Having moved to NYC at 11 days old, visited Danville and Altoona to see the rest of my family, and taken a trip to Pittsburgh for the Super Bowl, it's safe to say that  I certainly get around.

I am sitting up on my own now.  I've been eating big boy food including:  rice cereal, oat cereal, sweet potato, carrots, peas, apple, pear, and banana.  I go to day care at the gym while Mommy works out, and I also go to Gymboree a couple times a week to play with other kids.

The newest thing I've learned to do is clap my hands.  I watched a little girl at class on Saturday at Gymboree, and by Tuesday I was clapping away.  Just watch this video taken today and see for yourself.

I still don't like being on my tummy, but I'm slowly learning to scoot about a bit.  I'd much rather take clumsy steps while Daddy holds my hands.

Mom and Dad take so many pictures, there are tons that haven't been shared yet, so pretty soon they will be showing you some oldies but goodies just for fun.  What can we say; we're busy people.
Bye For Now,

Steeler Six-Pack

Hooray for the
Black & Gold!

We had an amazing time in Pittsburgh! Not only did we get to celebrate a win for my first Super Bowl, but I got to visit with all of Daddy and Mommy's friends.

I even got to do some commentary for the pregame countdown.  Hope you like the video!

With so much going on,
it can really tire a kid out!

Here We Go!

Since I was just 4 days old, my parents have been dressing me in Black and Gold, waving a towel over their heads, and chanting, especially while these large men in helmets beat each other up over a brown ball.

Well, I've gotten used to most of it, although every once in awhile Daddy screams real loud or Mommy jumps up with me real quickly, and it startles me. They keep telling me one day I'll be running around with my own towel, as long as I don't spit up on it, and cheering just as loudly as they do.

My Daddy also loves to sing a song to me.

"Here We Go, Steelers.  Here We Go.  Pittsburgh's Goin' to the Super Bowl."

Well, I'm glad he kept his promise.   The Steelers are going to the Super Bowl, and to celebrate the event, we are all going to Pittsburgh to watch the game with friends, some of whom will be meeting me for the first time.  If they are anything like my parents, they're sure to be just as loud.

SO HERE WE GO!!!

New News

Hooray!  It's a New Year, and I'm learning to do all sorts of new things...

Rubber Ducky made me laugh.

Meet my new friend, Gizmo.  My Daddy put him in my stocking.  He sings and dances and is not allowed to eat after midnight.

I'm bouncing.  I'm laughing.  And I'm rolling over.

That's right , people, I'll be mobile quicker than you can say jack-rabbit-slim's.  Mom and Dad, you better start thinking about baby proofing the apartment sooner rather than later, 'cause before you know it, I'll be on the go.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Christmas holiday.  It's always such a treat to see all my family and friends.

The decorations and lights make me smile, and opening the presents was so much fun.  Wrapping paper is great!

I'm so thankful for all the generous gifts I received.  They are fun to play with, too.  There is so much to look at and play with; books to read, colors to learn, and noises to make, I'll never be bored, that's for sure.  But it can sure make a kid sleepy.

           see me.  i see you.

i see everything and i love it all.

show me more.

A Busy Boy

Hello Everyone!
I am a busy boy these days, as you can see.

My mom and dad are just as busy, too.

They are doing all sorts of strange things.
They hung colored lights all over our apartment,
and even on a little tree they brought inside.
After they wrapped the tree in lights,
they hung sparkling balls from its branches,
and put a white star on top.

There are also giant socks hanging from the
bookshelf now.  I don't know whose they are,
but they must have three big feet.  Maybe
it's this Christmas person we are waiting for.
Mom and Dad keep saying Christmas is
coming soon, so it must be.

I don't know what this Christmas guy is like,
but he must have sticky fingers because they
keep hiding things from him by covering them
in shiny paper and tying them up tight with bows.

They also keep telling me I will get to see
Santa Clause.  To tell you the truth, I'm not that
thrilled about sitting on the lap of a man with
red fur all over his body, but I am excited to
visit my family.

I had such a great time at Thanksgiving,
I can't wait to see everybody again.

In the meantime, I thought I'd show you
all my newly completed nursery.
I keep Mom and Dad so busy,
they just finished it last week.

'Til Next Time,
  Finnegan
